A closing reception for young artists who participated in the Phoenix Art Group summer camp program will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at Arts on Main in Gloucester.
Until then, arts and crafts created by the children will be on display from noon to 5 p.m. each Wednesday through Saturday at the Main Street gallery.
Classes for various age groups were inspired by Ellen Walter, art teacher at Botetourt Elementary, with many of the projects similar to those in the after-school Art Enrichment Program sponsored by Arts on Main. Children brought together sometimes unrelated objects to create something new and unrelated to its parts, said a press release.
A People’s Choice Award and $25 cash prize will be given to the child whose art/craft receives the most votes from the visiting public.
The artists, their families, friends and the public are invited. Light refreshments will be served.
