Daffodils on Parade and Arts and Flowers, both signature events of the Garden Club of Gloucester, were rousing successes again this year.
“Thanks to the generosity of Arts on Main we were able to hold both events in one place and not have to worry last minute about weather changes,” said Susan Howard, chairman. She further stated,” While the children created their floral floats the families were able to browse and enjoy all of the art and floral arrangements in the gallery.”
With the invaluable publicity from the window at Angelwing Stationers, posters by member Annie Rex, and articles in the Gazette-Journal, the children’s workshop saw a record number of 32 participants this year. Several of them have attended all three years.
Each child was given a “float” to decorate with flowers, greens, and a wide range of fun, bright embellishments. Club volunteers assisted the children in choosing their supplies and then let them design and impleme...
