Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholars

Gloucester’s Chick-fil-A presented a total of $17,500 in scholarships to seven of its employees at a reception Saturday afternoon. Each year, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico apply for college scholarships through the Remarkable Futures Scholarship initiative, awarding more than $162 million since 1973. Here, Gloucester owner/operator John Gordon, second from left, is shown with recipients, from left, A’nya Strazdins, Nick Freeman and Connor Brooks. Other recipients, not pictured, were A’nya’s brother Justin Strazdins, Lauren Jones, Noah Gary and Steve Ouma. The employees are eligible to receive the scholarship multiple years, as long as they continue to work at least part-time at the restaurant. For Freeman and A’nya Strazdins, this is the third time each has won the scholarship—with each receiving $7,500 toward their college education. The recipients were recognized and enjoyed a celebratory cake.
