Chester Jackson (Jack) White of Hayes, died June 21, 2011 at York Convalescent Center.
Jack was born Dec. 29, 1924 in Mobjack, Mathews County, and was an only child.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude Jackson White and Ellis Clayton White.
His survivors are his daughter, Elizabeth W. Smith and son, William Clayton White; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Smith; grandson, William Brewer; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; a cousin, Dr. Richard Baylor and his wife Betty; adopted family, Nancy Jenkins-Harris and sons Vince, Jamie, Doug and William Jenkins, and long-time fishing buddy, Lynwood V. Harris Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. in Providence Cemetery, Miles, Va., on Friday, June 24, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Providence United Methodist Church or Bethany United Methodist Church in Gloucester Point.
Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge of the arrangements.
