Christmas spirit will arrive on Monday, Sept. 9 with the opening of rehearsals for the Chesapeake Chorale’s December concerts. Returning singers and those new to the group will be welcomed at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 S. Main Street, Kilmarnock, at 7 p.m., where music will be provided and the fun will begin. Rehearsals are scheduled for each Monday from 7-9 p.m. through November in preparation for Christmas concerts at Historic Christ Church (Dec. 2), Northumberland High School (Dec. 6), Lancaster Middle School (Dec. 7) and St. Clare Walker Middle School (Dec. 8). No audition is required to join this mixed-voice community group, organized in 1996, and dedicated to promoting choral music, particularly in our area schools. All proceeds from concerts are donated to school music programs.
