Charles Reginald “Reggie” Thompson, 59, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at his residence in Gloucester, Va.
He was born July 22, 1954 in Newport News, Va. Charles or Charlie as called by some was a 1973 graduate of Hargrave Military Academy. He was a member of Menchville Baptist Church. Prior to his illness he had a drywall business in Newport News. He enjoyed his work, hunting, horses and tinkering with anything that needed repair. Charles was a man who loved God and his family. He lived a very simple life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Isabelle Mizelle Thompson of Newport News; a brother, William Irving Thompson of Newport News, and niece, Stacey Hoskins McKeown of Chester, S.C.
Charles is survived by a sister, Charlotte Hoskins and husband Larry of Rocky Mount, N.C.; brother, Wade E. Thompson of Alabama; nephew, L. Wayne Hoskins and wife Rebecca of Wilson, N.C.; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.
Graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. James Weston will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, Va. 23606. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
