Charles R. Sadler, 66, of Mathews, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

A native of Mathews County, he was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and retired from Chesapeake Corp. of West Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Charlotte Sadler of Onemo.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara S. Sadler; son, Robert Sadler (friend Linda Robins); sister, Dinah K. Ashberry (Jay); brother, Gary W. Sadler (Robin); nephew, J. Scott Sadler of Arlington, Va.; niece, Ashley Adams (Taylor), and great-nephew, Grayson Adams, all of Norfolk.

A special thanks to the Riverside Hospice for their excellent care given to Charles.

The family received friends on Monday, March 12, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.

A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Pear Tree Cemetery, Onemo.
