Charles Henry Grigelis, age 59, of Hayes, died at his home on Friday, March 29, 2024. Charles was born on February 18, 1965. He graduated from Gloucester High School with the class of 1983 and worked as a drywall finisher until his retirement. He loved his family, NASCAR, the Las Vegas Raiders, and his kitties. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Legg; his father, Stanley Grigelis, and his stepfather, Bill Legg. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Catherine Grigelis; his brother, Stanley Grigelis of Simi Valley, Calif.; his sister, Donna Mae Smith (Darrell); aunts, Rachel Brown (Mintree) and Annie Robbins (Clifford), all of Gloucester, Va.; uncle, Bud Thompson (Halline) of Sylvester, West Va.; nieces, Rachel Grigelis and Heidi Clark; his mother and father-in-law, Edward and Donna Ewell, and his cousins, Scottie Brown, Jackie Brown, Micky Thompson, Genia Allen, Selina Lehman, Johna Pitchford, Tammy Ramsey, Noreen Maes, and Ritchie Maes. The family received friends at Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service, conducted by Pastor Michael Condrey, at 11 o’clock. The interment followed in the church cemetery. In memory of Charles, contributions may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O.
