Charles “Chuck” Douglas Wood, age 84, of Hayes, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a truck driver for several years, known to many by his CB handle name, “Woodchuck.” Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Willard Wood and Maddie Lavonia Wood, and his wife, Mildred “Mikki” Wood. He is survived by his son, Lewis “Danny” Wood; daughter, Tammy Bonneville; son, Gilbert “Wayne” Wood; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; cousin and friend, Donald Wood; friends, Eric Hovan and Mark Starling, and several other dear loved ones. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Hogg Funeral Home. A graveside service is to be held at 10 a.m. at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Friday, September 15, 2023, conducted by the Rev. Richard Croxton.
