On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Charles Bernard Belvin, age 88, a lifelong resident of Gloucester County, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family. Charles was in the first graduating class of Gloucester High School in 1954 and a faithful team member of the Colonial Stores, Lou Smith Supermarket, and Farm Fresh until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed fishing on the lump in the York River in his spare time and watching his favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. His parents, James Bernard and Thelma Blake Belvin, and his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Mae West Belvin, preceded him in death. Charles is survived by his two children, Carlette Hunt (Bill) and Bernard Belvin; sister, Barbara Belvin Dunston (Mitchell); brother, James Randolph Belvin (Della), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2025 from 12:30-3 p.m. at Beaverdam Park’s Whitcomb Lodge at 8687 Roaring Springs Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
