Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association members Nina Carter, Christi Pitts and Vicky Gunn, joined by Lynette Sawyer of Point Harbor, N.C., participated in the 2024 Challenge in the Mountains tournament. The event was held May 20-21 at the Omni Homestead Resort and Cascades Golf Course in Bath County. The foursome placed third out of 26 teams competing. The Challenge in the Mountains tournament is a fundraiser to benefit Bath County students in developing life skills through the game of golf.
