A four-session Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class begins at 6 o’clock Thursday at the Mathews Rescue Squad building at 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins.
The free training helps prepare residents to help their community when a disaster strikes by teaching disaster preparedness, basic first aid skills, search and rescue, fire safety, and terrorism awareness. It is being taught by the Gloucester CERT members.
Additional sessions will be held at 6 p.m. on the following two Thursdays, May 12 and 19. The final session will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, with lunch included.
