A free CERT New Members Class will be taught over two Saturdays, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14, at the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad building, 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area. Volunteers are also trained in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, disaster medical operations, terrorism, and psychology. Anyone is welcome to join.
The class is being taught in partnership with the Gloucester County Community Emergency Response Team.
