Cellist/pianist duo opens Arts at Abingdon series

Abingdon Episcopal Church will host cellist Julian Schwarz and pianist Marika Bournaki on Saturday, Nov. 9, in the first concert in the church’s Arts at Abingdon series.
The concert begins at 5 p.m. at the church on Route 17 in White Marsh. Admission is free, with a free-will offering accepted.
Schwarz and Bournaki met as students at the Aspen Music Festival in 2006 and at the Juilliard School in New York City. They began their musical collaboration in 2014 and made their debut together in recital at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, D.C., for the Embassy Series.
In November 2016 the duo won first prize in the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition’s inaugural “The Art of Duo.” The following year, they embarked on a 10-recital tour of China. Past engagements include recitals and festivals all over the world.
