CCS to hold indoor soccer tournaments

Christchurch School will hold futsal indoor soccer tournaments on Saturday, Jan. 28 (boys), beginning at 9 a.m., and Sunday, Jan. 29 (girls), starting at 10. The tournaments are open to anyone in grades 9-12.
The Phipps Futsal House Classic will be hosted in Phipps Field House on the school’s campus. Phipps Field House holds two full-size futsal fields, and will field a maximum of 16 teams for the boys, and 12 for the girls. It’s first-come, first-served. There is no charge to participate.
Futsal is the FIFA-recognized form of small-sided indoor soccer (the word is a contraction of the Spanish “fútbol sala”). It is played between two teams which each have five players on the pitch at any one time, with rolling substitutes and a smaller ball than soccer that is harder and less bouncy.
