Christchurch School’s eight-man football team is celebrating its first year with decisive victories, and is undefeated with a 3-0 record in the Virginia Independent School Football League.
The Seahorses opened the season with statement wins over Broadwater Academy (50-12) and Greenbrier Christian (48-7) and they beat defending champion Covenant School in a thriller last Friday (48-42). A third game, against Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, was called early due to storms.
Local players include: Cameron Byers ’25 of Saluda; Latane Barnette ’24 of Tappahannock; Mark Lewis ’24 of Dunnsville; Trevor McDonald ’24 of Port Haywood; Brayden Payne ’27 of Waterview, and Waverly Rennolds ’24 of Urbanna.
