Catherine (Cathy) Bullough Wilson, 94, died peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 15, 2013 in Patriots Colony at Williamsburg.
She was born in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 24, 1919 to William Reed and Ethel Buscher Bullough.
She attended Strayer College after graduating from Eastern High School in the District of Columbia where she met her future husband, Ernest (Ernie) Woodrow Wilson. They were married on Sept. 22, 1942 in Holy Comforter Church in Washington, D.C., prior to Ernie’s deployment to World War II.
Cathy lived in many different places in the United States; Okinawa, Japan; Rome, Italy; and Waterloo, Belgium. She thoroughly enjoyed her life as a military spouse and as the mother of three children. Cathy also enjoyed making many friends throughout the world. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on July 14, 1995 in New Port Richey, Fla., and her son-in-law, Ronald C. Florence.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Wilson Florence of Kingsville, Texas; her son, Stephen Ernest Wilson and his wife Linda of Mathews, Va.; her son, Thomas Reed Wilson and his wife Marilyn of Potomac Falls, Va.; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She will be buried alongside her beloved husband, Ernie, in Arlington National Cemetery on a date to be announced. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Oct. 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Patriots Colony where Cathy had resided since April 2004.
