Carolyn Forrest Conner, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Conner; her parents, Jake and Frances Forrest, and brother, Chandler Forrest. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Heather Robertson and her husband David Robertson; her son, Forrest Conner; her grandchildren, Taiya and Jacob Robertson, Brenton and Bayleigh Conner; her sister, Jackie Taylor; a host of nieces and nephews, and her bonus grandson, Nick Albano.
Carolyn retired from Thomas Nelson Community College after more than 30 years of service. She loved to quilt, sew, and camp and nothing made her happier than to spend time with her grandkids. She liked to sit on her deck with Macy, her dog, and watch the birds. She was born in Hampton, Va., but had been a Gloucester resident for more than 20 years.
A visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Andrews Funeral Home, 7192 Main Street, Gloucester. graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton. Following the service, friends were invited back to Heather’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
