Caroling kayakers likely scuttled for Friday night

The forecast isn’t good for Friday night, with high winds and plunging temperatures. And the outlook for caroling boaters is poor as well.
So, Jan Towne, who planned to lead a group of kayakers down Put-In Creek singing carols, said “I’m pretty sure I’ll have to cancel, because cold water and high winds don’t mix well when paddling. So disappointing.”
The National Weather Service is calling for rain and mostly balmy temperatures on Friday morning to end with the arrival of a strong cold front, with west winds gusting to 44 mph and temperatures plunging to around 13 degrees overnight.
