Carol Ray Milby, 84, of Gloucester, Va., passed away at the home of his daughter in Williamsburg, Va., on Friday, April 13, 2012.
He was born in King and Queen County to the late David L. and Nannies Foster Milby. He was the widower of Mary Davis Milby and was retired from Milby Logging Company where he worked with his brothers. He was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church.
Mr. Milby was also preceded in death by his son, Donald Milby; his grandson, Michael; his brothers, Robert, Harold, Bennie, and Joseph.
He is survived by his children, Linda Stanley and her husband Jerry, Brenda Hurley and her husband Louis, Theresa Huber and her husband Ben, Delores Barry and her son Adam, and Tammy Haurand and her husband John; his sisters, Sadie Darnell, Virginia Keller, and Nannie Yarrington; his brother, James Milby; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 16, 2012, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial was in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Sentara Williamsburg Hospice.
