Toano, artist Bob Carlson has been chosen as the artist of the month for the Art Speaks Gallery of the Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street in Mathews. Carlson’s paintings have been included for over 45 years in national and regional exhibitions as well as in commercial galleries, art centers, and museums in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. The exhibit will run through March 23. Carlson also has several pieces in the exhibit The Art of Food, which opens Friday with a reception beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited. “Woman Buying Vegetables” is one of the pieces on display.
