Dr. Chuck Harris, a dentist and member of the Abingdon Ruritan Club’s board of directors, presented a $2,000 donation from the club to the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic. Accepting the donation was GMCC Marketing and Development Director Maureen Crone. The mission of the GMCC is to provide community-based health care for the residents of Gloucester and Mathews counties, and select surrounding areas, who lack health insurance, or are covered by Medicaid. They achieve this through the efforts of volunteers, paid professionals and support staff, and contributions from members of the community who share its values and concern.
