The car-top boat launch at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes, reopens on Saturday, Feb. 1.
“The water is still very cold, but with the appropriate gear and planning you can once again launch your kayak to explore the creeks surrounding the park,” said Joel Neville, Chief Ranger of Visitor Experience at the park.
Spring is coming, and Machicomoco is gearing up for its annual Earth Day celebration, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Community partners will help in the celebration, with food available for purchase.
