Virginia DMV is marking its 100th anniversary this year with four car shows held at various sites across the state. One car show, “Through the Decades: DMV Classic Car Show,” was held on Saturday at the Gloucester DMV in the York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes.
In partnership with the Colonial Rod Club, DMV showcased the evolution of automotive history, from vintage classics to modern marvels. For entertainment there were train rides, an impaired driving simulator from Drive Smart Virginia, and a special appearance by the Hampton Roads Hepcat Honeys, a group that promotes Pin-Up culture while helping the community.
DMV is partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia to a help fulfill the wish of a youth who wants to go on a shopping spree for parts for a truck he’s restoring, said Katy Lloyd of DMV. The event raised over $2,000 for the wish.
