Hertz Local Edition, a division of Hertz Corporation, opened a rental car business in mid-March near the service bays of Ken Houtz Chevrolet in Gloucester.
The new Hertz office is a satellite of the Hertz office in Denbigh, said Theresa Rogers of Gloucester, manager-trainee at the new location.
Rogers said the new rental office will cover the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. The next closest Hertz locations are in Fredericksburg and four on the Peninsula.
Hertz Local Edition is a name used for its locations that are not principally at airports, Rogers said. The new satellite rents cars, light trucks and sport utility vehicles.
Hertz offers pick up and delivery of customers for processing purposes, Rogers said. Bob King of Gloucester, and Kenny Hogge of Achilles, are drivers for the new location.
