Captain Michael V. Warren, 75, of Cobbs Creek, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, due to complications of Frontal Temporal Dementia. He was predeceased by his mother, Anne Warren Lawson Outten, and his father, Grady Lassiter Warren. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dyan Warren of Cobbs Creek; bonus children, Corey Aleandro of Virginia Beach, and Holly Aleandro of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Julia and Anthony Aleandro of Virginia Beach; two sisters, two nieces, three nephews, and several grand-nieces and -nephews.
Michael was a founding partner of Energy Service Group International in Toano, Va., where he was VP of Operations and responsible for their insurance division. Michael loved being on the water—living on “The Creek,” cruising on The Bay and enjoying all types of boating activities. All who knew him were amazed by his vast knowledge of boating information and all types of boats from rowboats to mega yachts. This love of the water led him to obtain a USGC Master’s license that eventually segued into delivering boats and training new boat owners, especially Kadey Krogens. He was very active in the Krogen owners’ group, Krogen Cruisers, and served as its President for several years. His presence was larger than life. He will be greatly missed by his wife, grandchildren and Krogen family.
Life is a journey, and the sea is but one of the many destinations along the way. Fair winds and following seas on your final journey, Captain.
