In preparation for this fall’s Walk to End Alz-heimer’s, businesses along Gloucester’s Main Street are invited to “Paint the Town Purple” in September to raise awareness for the upcoming walk and the debilitating and progressive disease.
Paint the Town Purple will be held the week of Sept. 6-11, prior to the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Walk to End Alzheimer’s that will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, kicking off at Botetourt Elementary School at 9 a.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and support a cause that affects so many lives,” said community engagement chair Victoria Jenkins. She listed a number ways that businesses can get involved, including:
Decorate your business in purple. Create purple-themed table setups, window displays, and other decorations.
Wear purple. Encourage your staff to dress in purple clothing during the event.
Feature purple items. Offer purple treats, drinks, jewelry, art or other purple-themed products.
