Broadband survey starts Friday

The Mathews County Broadband Advisory Board launches its broadband survey tomorrow. The online survey will be available at mathewscountyva.gov/bbsurvey, while paper copies will be available at the Mathews County Treasurer’s Office, Chesapeake Bank, the Mathews Active Lifestyle Center, and Mathews Memorial Library.
The survey is expected to help in mapping areas of the county that are underserved by high-speed internet. Mapping those areas could help the county obtain grant funding to provide broadband services to more county residents.
Board chair Judy Rowe said that the survey is expected to take three minutes or less to complete and may be used for both individuals and businesses. One of the most important pieces of information to include, she said, is the address of the property for which the survey is being filled out.
