Brett Lindsay, a 2017 Gloucester High School graduate, has completed the first stage of the first league of the Czech Republic baseball season with the Jablonec Blesk.
The top four teams will advance to the Extra League Superstructure phase of the season. The top two teams of this round will be promoted to the Extra League, which is the top professional league in the Czech Republic.
The Blesk ended the first round tied for second place with Olympia Blansko. The Blesk split a doubleheader with the top team of the division, Kotlarka Praha.
Lindsay is currently hitting .360 with five doubles, a triple and two home runs. He is tied for the league lead in RBIs with 17 and is second in hits with 22. The shortstop, who played his college ball at Eastern Mennonite University, is currently fielding at a .946 clip.
The season will end in mid to late October.
