National Honey Bee Day will be celebrated from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at Brent and Becky’s, Gloucester
The Colonial Beekeepers Association will have bee products available for purchase, with members on hand to answer questions. Honey tastings, children’s crafts, face painting, balloon animals, honey extraction demonstrations, and refreshments are also planned, a release said. A talk on “Introduction to Beekeeping” is planned for 1 p.m.
In other events during August, Brent and Becky’s will host Garden Buddies for ages 5-10 on Saturday, Aug. 12, starting at 10 a.m. The cost is $5 for a hands-on program, project and snack.
Also planned is a talk and garden walk on “Pest Resistant Gardening” at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at no charge, although reservations are needed.
