Bread for Life gets refrigerated truck

The Bread for Life Community Food Pantry was the recipient of a 2024 Isuzu refrigerated truck at no cost to the pantry. This truck was purchased by a grant from the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank with funds received from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
The new truck will help the pantry with retrieving food donations from local stores and organizations. Volunteer drivers take the truck out six days per week picking up donated food, putting over 20,000 miles per year on the vehicle.
Now that the pantry has a refrigerated truck, this will help during the summer months to keep food cold and can also be used as a temporary auxiliary storage cooler should the need arise, a release stated.
