The Mathews County Board of Supervisors voiced support for two projects in the county after hearing presentations from project representatives during the monthly meeting, held on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.
The projects involved would, if completed, bring fiber broadband coverage to every part of Mathews County and complete the long-awaited maritime center at Williams Wharf.

Chris Debosier, associate vice president at Verizon Wireless Network Regulatory Strategy, told the board that his company would like to partner with the county to apply for a $20.4 million federal BEAD grant that would be used to make fiber broadband available to every home in Mathews County.
