Mathews County Historical Society recently donated “Pocahontas and the English Boys: Caught between Cultures in Early Virginia” by Karen Ordahl Kupperman in memory of longtime member and donor Richard Hollerith Jr., who died May 23, 2022. Hollerith was a descendent of Pocahontas through his maternal grandmother, and was represented at the library by Romy, his wife. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Mathews Memorial Library director Bette Dillehay, Romy Hollerith and MCHS President Reed Lawson.
