The body of a deceased person discovered in the wooded area behind Main Street Center in Gloucester on July 18 has been positively identified by the Tidewater Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to Capt. Jamie Sharp of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.
The body belonged to a 62-year-old Caucasian male. GCSO declined to release the male’s name at this time, but his family has been notified of his death.
The OCME has not yet officially ruled on a cause and manner of death since tests are still pending. The preliminary investigation by both GCSO investigators and OCME staff shows no signs of trauma or evidence of foul play.
