U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 66 instructors will conduct a free Boat Virginia class from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 29.
The class will be held at the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad building, 97 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins.
Experienced auxiliary instructors will lead students through six chapters of the text to a 60-question test given at the end of lecture.
Upon successful completion of the test, students receive their Virginia Boating Education Certificate which is valid for the boater’s lifetime. This certificate must be carried on-board by the operator of all motorboats with 10 H.P. or larger engines.
Students are asked to arrive by 8:15 a.m. to register and receive their Boat Virginia text. There will be a 45-minute lunch break where every student is on their own.
Students may pre-register online at www.register-ed.com/events/view/224304.
