Flat Iron Crossroads will welcome three bands for Saturday’s Blues Fest, to be held from 4:30-9:30 p.m. at 7709 Flat Iron Road in Gloucester. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. with a food truck, fire pits, and fall activities outdoors.
The Nighthawks will headline the show, performing a wide-ranging mix of blues, R&B, honky-tonk country, doo-wop, gospel, and rockabilly. With five decades of varied experience that began in Washington, D.C., the quartet promises to deliver the title of one of its albums, a “Damn Good Time.”
Kurt Crandall & True Story will perform at 6 p.m., showcasing a style that combines Chicago blues, West Coast swing, and Kansas City jump. Crandall traveled nationally and internationally to promote his album “True Story” and is now promoting his fourth recording, “Stars on the Stops.”
BluzHammer will kick off the festival at 4:30 p.m. with “some Blues and whatever else we like.” The six-person band is welcoming a special guest on keyboard, Julius Ray Pittman.
