Bluegrass duo to perform at Arts at Abingdon

The bluegrass duo Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley will perform at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Arts at Abingdon concert series at Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh.
This is an encore performance, with the duo back by popular demand from a 2016 concert, a release said. Admission is free, with a free-will offering accepted.
The duo's debut Compass Records project, “Before The Sun Goes Down,” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album. With the release of their new project, The Country Blues, the men take their unique musical conversation to an even higher level that has been praised by Merle Haggard as “a wonderful piece of work,” said the release.
Hensley began playing guitar and singing when he was 10 years old and landed on the Grand Old Opry when he was only 11.
Ickes has been playing bluegrass with his band Blue Highway for over 20 years, during which time he has been named Bluegrass Dobro Player of the Year 15 times. He has recorded ...
