The Mathews Memorial Library will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in recognition of February as Black History Month, celebrating the freedom, culture and heritage of all Americans, a release stated.
The event will feature several exhibits, including stories and photographs of churches and early Rosenwald-designed schools located in the county. There will be something for all ages to enjoy, with games, crafts and refreshments.
This event offers an opportunity to share information about our history, with special emphasis on the heritage shared by members of the Mathews community.
