Members of the Middle Peninsula Bird Club will visit three areas in lower Gloucester County on Tuesday, beginning at 8 a.m. The public is invited to join the bird walk.
The group will meet at the Gloucester Point Beach parking lot, 1255 Greate Road. The walk will include the beach, fishing pier, the boat ramp area, and the VIMS Teaching Marsh in the VIMS Boat Basin. There is also a boardwalk trail through a wooded area that leads to the VIMS beach next to the Boat Basin.
Next, the group will briefly stop at Williams Landing Boat Ramp on Timberneck Creek at the end of Williams Landing Road (Route 1303), Hayes. This public boat ramp is opposite the soon-to-be Machicomoco State Park. Finally, the group will proceed to Woodville Park, off Brays Point Road (Route 636), Ordinary. Any cancellations due to weather will be posted on the club’s Facebook page.
