Bipartisan group of Virginia lawmakers address USPS delays

A bipartisan group of Virginia lawmakers came together this week to send a letter to the Inspector General of the United States Postal Service, sharing stories of USPS disruptions and delays across the state.
On Wednesday, Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross) was joined by Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner (D-Virginia), as well as fellow Reps. Bobby Scott (D-Newport News), Abigail Spanberger (D-Spotsylvania), Bob Good (R-Elvington) and Jen Kiggans (R-Virginia Beach) in writing the letter.
The USPS Office of Inspector General is currently auditing the Richmond Regional Processing and Distribution Center in Sandston because the center is one of the first processing centers in the country that was opened to centralize outgoing mail and package processing. The USPS OIG is expected to release the report and recommendations soon that will assess the efficacy and operational impacts of the changes.
