Bernard Bruce Green, age 63, of Hayes, died at his home Friday, April 25, 2014.

He retired from Fort Eustis Plumbing Department. Bruce, an avid hunter and fisherman, was a happy, kind person who loved the water and saw the sunrise many mornings.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; a daughter, Hilda Jenkins and husband Michael; a son, Adam Green; two brothers, James Green and wife Rose, Kenneth Green and wife Regina; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; faithful canine Goober, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
