J.Y. Taylor of Bena, has released an autobiographical book, “The Threadbare Chronicles: A Tale of Poverty, Persistence, Dereliction and Redemption.”
The book is an account of growing up in central Virginia “amid the struggles of an under-educated family and their attempts to keep their head above water,” said a note from the author.
Beginning with the Great Depression of the 1930s, “The Threadbare Chronicles” tells of a family that endured poverty, suicide, a missing person, and addictions, said the note, but “unbowed by these difficulties, they began a path forward, stumbling at times, but amazingly able to right the ship just in time to take the next laborious step forward.”
The 331-page book is available at amazon.com, in hardback for $19.99, paperback for $15.99, and Kindle Unlimited free of charge. It includes 28 pages of family photographs.
