Belle Isle Park continues its Virginia Writers Series

The Virginia Writers Series at Belle Isle State Park, Lancaster, continues with two writers this month in the program sponsored by the Friends of Belle Isle State Park.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, the Rev. Dr. Lonnie H. Lee will discuss his book, “A Brief History of Belle Isle Plantation, Lancaster County, Virginia, 1650-1782,” which was published in 2020 and is currently for sale in the park’s gift shop.
Lee will be on hand to sign personal copies and answer questions. He will also discuss several of his published articles and his most recent book, “The Huguenot Anglican Refuge in Virginia: Empire, Land, and Religion in the Rappahannock Region,” which was published in 2023 and is the result of his latest research on the Huguenot migration to Virginia.
The program on Sunday, Oct. 22, will feature Virginia author Dean King, award-winning writer of 10 nonfiction books. King relishes the adventures involved in making history come to life while at the same time diligently searching out the truth...
