The Full Hike, a self-guided 9.5-mile stroll from one end of Gloucester’s Beaverdam Park to the other, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, beginning at 7 a.m.
Participants will meet at the main entrance, where they will be driven to the Farys Mill Road entrance to walk the trails back. Those taking part are encouraged to bring water and snacks, wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is Saturday.
FALL SOCCER: Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring fall soccer for ages 3-14 as of Sept. 30. The 3-Year-Old Parent and Child Playtime Soccer is from Sept. 5 through Oct. 5, 5-7:30 p.m. time frame; the fee is $30 and the deadline is Aug. 20. The 4- and 5-year-old Rugrat Division, 6-8 year-old Looney Tunes Division, 9-11 year-old Juniors Division and 12-14 year-old Seniors Division is from Aug. 22 through Oct. 26. The fee is $50; the deadline to register is Sunday.
