Beaverdam Triathlon to be held May 11

Athletes are encouraged to begin their training now for Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s first-ever Beaverdam Triathlon.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, Beaverdam Park will play host to a 2.5-mile run, a 6.1-mile bike ride and a 1.9-mile paddle. The triathlon is for ages 16 and older. Mountain bikes and recreational canoes and kayaks only; no street bikes or racing watercraft.
The fee is $50, and the deadline to register is April 11.
SPRING SOCCER: Spring soccer (ages 12 to 14) will be held from mid-March through mid-May. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with games on Saturdays at Ark and Abingdon Parks, and possibly some other localities. Volunteer coaches and officials are needed. The registration fee is $50, Jan. 22 through Feb. 4.
ZUMBA: Zumba will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays in February from 6:45-7:45 p.m. at Abingdon Elementary. The fee is $8 per day if you sign up for the whole month or $9 per day for individual days. The deadline to reg...
