The “Beautify Buck’s” fundraising campaign is well underway, with a goal of raising $25,000 to preserve and beautify the Bena landmark.
“Since we began renovating Buck’s General Store museum, we have made tremendous progress,” a letter to donors stated. “Buck’s has all new siding and a brand-new metal roof. We could not have completed these major projects without your help. Thank you!
“Our goal is to wrap up the year and tie it with a bow, and raise enough funds to ‘Beautify Buck’s,’ which includes site planning, grading, seeding, and spreading gravel for the drive, plants, shrubs, new signage, and plans for a waterman’s memorial.”
To donate to the ongoing effort, either go online (www.guineaheritage.org) and click the “Donate” button at the top of the page (specify “Beautify Buck’s” when you make your gift) or stop by the C.B. Rowe & Son General Store museum to give your donation in person. Any amount is appreciated and all proceeds will go to the beautification campaign.
