Beatrice Estelle Horsley of Gloucester, passed away Saturday night, Jan. 3, 2015 at age 93.
A lifelong resident of Gloucester County, Beatrice was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was a member of Gloucester Moose Lodge 886 and Women of the Moose Chapter 1312.
When her two sons were older, she worked for over 20 years at Morgan’s Drug Store. She enjoyed sewing and bird watching with her beloved husband James, but her favorite hobby was ballroom dancing. Beatrice took great pride in watching her sons and granddaughters grow up and she enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James W. Horsley; her mother, Virgie Jenkins; her father, John Campbell Jenkins; her brothers, Jack, Charles, and Campbell “Cammie” Jenkins; her sisters, Myrtle Lee and Ruth Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Horsley.
She is survived by son, James Wayne Horsley and wife Cynthia; son, Richard M. Horsley; granddaughters, Janet H. Wyndham and husband Ross and Jennifer H. Worrell and husband Tim; great-grandchildren, Travis Worrell and wife Brittany, and Ashley, Kindred and Peyton Worrell; sisters, Hazel Jenkins and Vashti Wilcher and husband Melvin; numerous nieces and nephews and several wonderful caregivers.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Steve Sales, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
