The Exchange Club of Gloucester-Mathews held its first BBQ & Bags event at the Gloucester Moose Lodge on Saturday, June 24. The recently-organized club collaborated with the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST). The weather cooperated and the turnout was good, club treasurer Nancy Deptola said, adding that the club hopes to make this an annual event. The “bags” part of the event was a cornhole tournament, with cash prizes going to the winners. Charter members that prepared the BBQ the night before included, from left, James Nealon, James Ramos, Mike Albright, Ken Walker, Kurtis Hoar, J.R. Spohn and Caleb Schlosser.
