The Baystars U12 Stingrays youth soccer team battled the Beach FC Villapando Wahoos on Saturday at the Hampton Road Soccer Complex. The Stingrays, who demonstrated solid passing and teamwork to maintain possession a majority of the game, won the match with a score of 7-0.
First-half goals were scored by Louisa Doley and Charlie Sheridan. Doley took a goal kick from the Wahoos’ keeper to the far post and Sheridan scored a hat trick with two assists by Brooklyn Robinette. In the second half, goals were scored by Braylin Brochu, Hadli Sellers and Ellis O’Mara, with an assist from Jill New.
Aubrey Jones gave a strong performance on defense as well as midfield, providing support to the front line throughout the game.
The Stingrays have now extended its regular season win streak to seven games and will face off against the VA Reign Black for their last game of the season on Saturday in Williamsburg.
