“Tales as Old as Time,” Bayside Youth Ballet’s Spring Gala, will be presented at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School.
The show, which includes jazz, classical ballet, modern and musical pieces, will open with “Be Our Guest,” a lively number from the Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast.”
Also scheduled for performance are excerpts from the village scenes of the ballet “Giselle,” as well as from the Spanish ballet “Don Quixote.” In addition, there will be a piece inspired by Bob Fosse’s musical “The Pajama Game,” along with excerpts from the Jerome Robbins classic, “West Side Story.”
The spring gala will feature 23 dancers ranging in age from 10 to 18, a release stated.
